Caregivers
As a caregiver, there may be options available for you to become a permanent resident or work temporarily in Canada.
-
Home Child Care Provider Pilot & Home Support Worker Pilot
You may be able to apply for permanent residence through these programs if you meet certain eligibility requirements and have a job offer to work in one of the eligible occupations. Through these pilots, you may get a work permit to work temporarily in Canada and obtain the necessary professional experience for permanent residence. The work permit is occupation-restricted, meaning you may not work in any other occupation, but does not require a LMIA.
The Live-in Caregiver Programs are currently closed to new applicants.
