International Experience Canada (IEC)

This visa is designed specifically for youths who would like to travel and work in Canada
for up to 2 years. It is divided in three categories. Check below if any of those apply to
you:

• Working Holiday

- open work permit
- you don’t have a job offer
- you want to work for more than one employer and location
- you want to earn some money and travel

• Young Professionals

- employer specific work permit
- you have a job offer that will contribute to your professional development
- you plan to work for same employer at the same location during your stay

• International Co-op (Internship)

- employer specific work permit
- you are registered in a post-secondary institution
- you have a job offer for an internship in Canada
- you need this internship to complete your studies

- you will work for the same employer at the same location during your stay

To be eligible for this program, your country of citizenship must have a Youth Mobility
Agreement with Canada.
