Open Work Permit
An Open Work Permit allows you to work for any employer in Canada. But this permit is
issued only in specifics situations. Below you will find a list of what these situations can
be.

if you graduated from a designated learning institution you could be eligible for a Post Graduate Study Permit

if you are a student who can no longer meet the cost of your studies

if you have an employer-specific work permit and are being abused in relation to your job
-
if you applied for permanent residency in Canada

if you are a dependent family member of someone who applied for permanent residency

if you are the spouse or common-law partner of a skilled worker or international student
-
if you are a refugee
-
if you are under a removal order
-
if you are a temporary resident
-
if you are a young worker participating in special programs
In addition to being in one of these specific situations, all applicants must meet the following:

Have a passport that is valid for 6 month or more.

Have no criminal or immigration-related convictions.

Convince an immigration officer that you have ties to your home country

Convince an immigration officer that you will leave when your work permit expires

Pass a medical exam
