Do you plan on travelling to Canada for tourism with family and friends or on business?
To travel to Canada, you may require a Visitor Visa (also called temporary resident
visa). You may also require a Visitor Visa if you are transitioning through a Canadian
airport to your final destination. 
 
Most visitors can stay up to six months in Canada, although at the port of entry, the
officer may allow you to stay for less or more time. In a Visitor Visa application, you
must:

 

• Hold a passport valid for at least six months or more

• Convince an immigration officer that you have ties to your home country and will

• return at the end of your visit

• Have enough financial resources for your stay 

• Not have any criminal or immigration-related convictions
